Sveriges Radio Ekot has examined the police's work after all firearm murders in 2025. This covers 27 shootings with 32 fatalities. In all but four cases, one or more people have been arrested or charged.
"We have made great progress in how we deal with deadly violence," said Hanna Paradis, deputy head of investigations at the police's National Operations Department (NOA), to Sveriges Radio.
In the late 2010s, one in four fatal shootings was solved, according to statistics Ekot reviewed.
The mass murder at Campus Risbergska in Örebro is not included in the review.
