It took several months for the police to arrest a preschool teacher on Gotland, who was later convicted of sexual crimes against children. In the meantime, he committed more crimes. The police have now reported themselves for misconduct, P4 Gotland reports.

The man was recently sentenced to three years and six months in prison for, among other things, aggravated child pornography, aggravated sexual assault of a child, and offensive photography.

A report was filed against him in June of this year, but it took two and a half months before he was arrested. In the meantime, he committed further crimes, including filming a child in a toilet and producing hundreds of child pornography images.

Reports of misconduct should be handled by special investigations, an independent part of the police.
