In terms of water levels, this is the worst I've seen in Skåne. It's worrying for the future, says Nils Carlsson, head of department at the nature unit at the County Administrative Board in Skåne, to SVT Nyheter Skåne .

Around 50 rivers in southern Sweden have low flows, according to SMHI . This has resulted in dried-out riverbeds and previously gushing waterfalls that have shrunk to trickles.

This is what it looks like at Skåne's largest waterfall, Hallamölla, for example, Sydsvenskan has reported.

The reason is that there has been too little rain for several years.
