"The embassies in Kinshasa and Kampala estimate the total number of Swedes in the DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Uganda to be around 200," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs writes in an email to DN.
Of the 200, the majority are located in the capitals of Kinshasa and Kampala.
At least 136 deaths in the DRC are linked to an unusual variant of the Ebola virus. In addition, hundreds of suspected infections have been registered, and cases have also been confirmed in neighboring Uganda.
On Sunday, the WHO declared an international health emergency due to the Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda.
