Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's government will submit a bill on this to parliament, according to Armenian and international media.
If and when it becomes clear that Armenia will attempt to initiate the process, there are many steps remaining. First, it is up to the EU to assess whether the country should be allowed to submit an application.
Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced at a press conference on Wednesday that the country is in ongoing talks with the EU, with Armenian hopes of being able to enter into a new partnership agreement in the near future.
