Duplantis made three jumps in the competition and cleared 5.95 meters on his first attempt, but then chose not to continue at 6.04.

Duplantis appeared to shake his head as he spoke to his father and coach Greg Duplantis and physical therapist Torbjörn Bryde before pulling out.

"I felt it a few days ago after the competition in Budapest (on Tuesday). At first it felt completely okay on the track, but then it came right away and it got much worse on the next jump," Duplantis tells SVT.

However, he says that it didn't feel like anything too serious.

But I knew I couldn't jump after the 5.95 attempt.

None of the competitors managed 6.04, which meant that Duplantis finished in second place. The winner was American Sam Kendricks at 5.95 meters, thanks to fewer misses in the competition as “Mondo” missed once at 5.85.
