The prosecutor decided on Saturday afternoon to lift the arrest of the man, who is suspected of killing another man in connection with the hunt last Thursday.
"The criminal suspicions against him remain. However, there is still nothing to indicate that it was an intentional killing," says public prosecutor Moa Ejnestrand in a press release.
The suspect's lawyer told SVT News Norrbotten on Friday that his client denies any wrongdoing, and that what happened was an accident caused by a misunderstanding.
Both men are residents of Norway.
