The lawsuit claims that the individuals used phishing and hacking attacks to gain access to digital accounts belonging to photographers and producers close to her. The material was then allegedly resold for large sums of money.
The lawsuit states that the hackers are being sued to "establish the identity of these as yet unknown and unscrupulous individuals, so that they can be held accountable for their privacy-violating and reprehensible actions."
According to Grande, there have been hundreds of leaks since her debut in 2011. In 2023 alone, hackers allegedly came across 45 unreleased songs. In 2024, a fraudster also allegedly posed as a photographer to gain access to more unpublished photos.
