When the news broke that Ariana Grande was taking a break after her ongoing tour, many people linked the break to the frequent discussions about the star's body.
Now Grande herself is taking the blame and denying that the discussions about her appearance influenced her decision.
"I've heard that my fans were worried that the negativity was ruining everything for me, but I just have to say that it couldn't be more fucking opposite," she says, according to Variety.
She also says that she needs a break, and that it has therefore been planned for a long time.
"Several things can be true at the same time. Yes, boundaries have to be set. People can need a break sometimes. This (tour) is still and will continue to be the best experience of my professional and creative life," Grande says.
Ariana Grande's body has been the subject of much discussion since the star apparently lost weight for her lead role in the "Wicked" films. Grande herself hit back with the song "Yes, and?" in 2024, which included the lyric "don't comment on my body, don't reply. Your business is yours and mine is mine."
