First-week album sales in the United States were equivalent to approximately 295,000 units, Grande's best week in over a decade in terms of pure album sales.
With her seventh number one album on the Billboard 200, Ariana Grande holds fifth place among female solo artists with the most number one albums. Taylor Swift leads by a wide margin with 15, followed by Barbra Streisand (11), Madonna (10) and Beyoncé (8). Grande shares the spot with Janet Jackson and Lady Gaga.
Grande's previous number ones are "Eternal Sunshine," "Positions," "Thank U, Next," "Sweetener," "My Everything," and "Yours Truly." "Petal" also becomes her tenth top-ten album.
