The Argentine parliament has approved a state budget for the first time since President Javier Milei took office in 2023.

The 2026 budget, which was passed by the Senate on Friday, local time, predicts GDP growth of 5 percent. In addition, annual inflation is expected to fall to 10.1 percent.

Milei's ruling party gained more seats in both chambers of Congress after the autumn midterm elections.
