Turkey lost four straight matches in the Nations League. That seems to have been the last straw, and Turkish media are reporting that Italian national team coach Vincenzo Montella is being sacked.
Arda Turan is expected to take over.
Turan was surrounded by chaos and scandals during his playing career. Among other things, he has been accused of sexual harassment.
In 2019, he was sentenced to nearly three years in prison for a nightclub brawl with Turkish singer Berkay Şahin. Turan broke Şahin's nose and later showed up at the hospital, firing a gun at the ground.
Turan currently coaches Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, where he led the club to the league title last season.
