The group - Lene Grawford Nystrøm, René Dif and Søren Rasted - wrote on Instagram that they have created memories they will carry with them forever.
"When you've been together for so long, you also learn when it's time to protect what you've built together. For us, this feels like the right time to say goodbye, while the memories are still strong and the love for the music, the history and each other still remains," the post says, as reported by Expressen.
“Barbie Girl” was released in 1997 and became a hit that topped charts around the world. The song led to a trademark infringement lawsuit from doll manufacturer Mattel. However, when the blockbuster film “Barbie” was released in 2023, a newly remixed version of the song was used.
