In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook said that rising costs for different types of chips are a determining factor.
"Unfortunately, a price increase is inevitable. We are doing our best to mitigate the sharp price increases and protect our customers, but the situation has become uncontrollable," he said in the interview.
Cook, however, would not say when any increase would take effect or which products would be affected. The company raised the price of its smallest desktop computer, the Mac Mini, last month.
The company is expected to release a new version of its iPhone this fall, including a foldable variant.
