A railway by the Panama Canal has been bought by APM Terminals, a subsidiary of the Danish freight giant AP Møller-Mærsk.

The 76 kilometer long and single-track railway, which connects the Atlantic with the Pacific Ocean, is operated by Panama Canal Railway Company. The railway makes it easier to transport goods between the ports at both ends of the canal.

How much APM Terminals pays for the railway company is not known.
