Michael Apelgren has had a tough start as Swedish national team captain. It's going better in the club team. Pick Szeged is clear for the quarterfinals in the Champions League.

The Hungarian top club, where Apelgren is in his first season as head coach, had a narrow defeat with them in their luggage to the away return match against Paris Saint-Germain. Then PSG was completely overrun.

Pick Szeged won with a whole 35–25 (a total of 65–56 in the double meeting) and is clear for the quarterfinal against the title defender FC Barcelona.

Michael Apelgren, who led Sweden to a historic World Championship fiasco at the beginning of the year, let the blue-yellow national team goalkeeper Tobias Thulin sit on the bench the entire match. A wise decision since Roland Mikler played a great game and made 15 saves.

In PSG, the national handball team's captain Andreas Palicka also had to start on the bench. The 38-year-old came in later, but without having any luck with him.

The quarterfinals begin on 23–24 April. The other three matches: Magdeburg-Veszprém, Sporting Lissabon-Nantes, Füchse Berlin-Ålborg.
