Prices for apartments increased 1.1 percent in September, while house prices fell marginally by 0.1 percent, according to Swedish brokerage statistics.

”Sales volumes are relatively high, but the deals often take longer. With the latest interest rate cut and a budget that gives households better margins, we expect more offensive buyers going forward”, says Oskar Öholm, CEO of Mäklarsamfundet, in a comment in a press release.

The price increase for apartments is most evident in Greater Stockholm, where they increase by 2 percent according to the measurement. A larger proportion of apartments in the city center is stated as an explanation. In Greater Gothenburg and Greater Malmö, the prices of apartments decreased by 1 percent.

The prices of houses in Greater Stockholm and Greater Malmö were unchanged in September, while they fell 0.8 percent in Greater Gothenburg.

Compared to September last year, apartment prices rose 0.2 percent in September, while house prices fell 0.2 percent.

The monthly comparison is based on 26,251 apartments and 15,449 houses sold during the period July-September.
