The fire service is reported to have the fire under control, which is limited to one apartment.
"It is unclear how the fire started. We are at the scene and are conducting interviews to find out what happened," says police spokesperson Mats Eriksson.
The alarm came at 4:10 p.m. on Monday.
No one else was injured, and the person was alone in the apartment, police say.
At 7 p.m., the police announced that they had opened a preliminary investigation into public danger negligence.
