"I would say it is very serious," says the police's on-call investigation officer, Ulf Flink, to the newspaper.
The fire was started at noon on Monday by pouring flammable liquid into the letterbox. Two adults and three children, including an infant, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The police have not identified any suspects and have so far been unable to establish any threat to the family.
