The fourth season of the series had the highest viewership to date, according to streaming service HBO. Jodie Foster and Kali Reis starred in the season but will not return for season five. However, the series' director and writer, Issa López, will.
Antonio Banderas will play Rai Garcia, while Nicolas Cage's character is called Henry Logan. The season will take place in Jamaica Bay, New York.
According to López, there will be "some nods to previous seasons", but "the plot, the characters and everything else is new".
