Captain Rasmus Andersson, Calgary, and Anton Bengtsson got Tre Kronor going in what eventually became 6-0 against Latvia.

After more than half the match, they struck with a 12-second interval.

Anton Bengtsson's goal meant 2-0 and was the start of what ended with the fourth straight win in the home World Championship at Globen.

The Småland native from Nässjö, Swedish champion with HV71 in 2017, is the team captain in Rögle and the only SHL player in the World Championship team with 19 NHL stars.

It means a lot. I've been with the national team all season and tried to contribute with my play, which is very hard work, he says.

"Enjoying every minute"

He has a low-key role in a fourth line that is supposed to contribute with hard labor.

I love it and enjoy every minute you're out there. It's awesome. I try to spread energy. Then getting to be among all these NHL players is fantastic. You learn and see what they have and try to get better every day, he says.

He's playing his second World Championship goal before.

But never in a team as star-studded as this – and in a home championship.

Nice to do it when it's full of Swedish fans and good pressure, he says.

"Completely okay"

Tre Kronor has the goal of winning gold on home soil, and Anton Bengtsson's grade on the start and four straight wins is:

Completely okay. We've had some periods where we get a bit too much on the outside, when we change that and get straighter, then we're more effective. That's how we need to play consistently over 60 minutes, he says.

Tre Kronor has a day off on Thursday and meets newcomer Slovenia on Friday evening.
