In January 2025, the golden helmet and three golden bracelets were stolen from the museum. The objects come from ancient Dacia and were on loan from the National Museum of Romania.
It is important not to give up when something is so valuable to several generations, said Romania's Foreign Minister Oana Toiu, calling the announcement "extraordinary news."
After the theft last year, Romania's then-Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu was furious that "priceless objects" had been stolen and threatened to demand "unprecedented damages" from the Netherlands.
Two of the bracelets have now been recovered. The search for the third is still ongoing, according to the Dutch police.
