Anthony Elanga has signed a long-term contract with Newcastle, announces the Premier League football club on its website.
The 23-year-old is being recruited from league rival Nottingham Forest and becomes, among other things, a club teammate with national team colleague Alexander Isak.
"I really want to buy into the culture, in this club's DNA. I'm very happy to be here and can't wait to get started", says Elanga in a statement.
The transfer sum including bonuses is reported to be 55 million pounds, just over 700 million kronor, according to Sky Sports.
The fast national team player impressed last season and made six goals and eleven assists in 38 matches when Nottingham finished seventh in the league, behind fifth-placed Newcastle.
