The Public Health Agency of Sweden confirmed the information to DN. It concerns a person who sat near an infected passenger on a flight from Johannesburg, South Africa.
On occasions like this, the infection control authorities in the affected countries sound the alarm and we received this information via WHO about this person. The alarm goes off if the person has had close contact or sat within two rows of the infected person, says Erik Sturegård, acting state epidemiologist at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, to DN.
The person's risk of infection is assessed as small.
