Two people are being held in custody on probable cause on suspicion of bribery in Stockholm, according to the Swedish Prosecution Authority.

A total of five people are suspects, according to documents at Stockholm District Court.

On Tuesday, police raided several addresses. Four people were arrested and the suspicions relate to aggravated offering and accepting of bribes. On Wednesday, another person was arrested, suspected of aggravated offering of bribes.

Two people were requested to be detained on Thursday, both suspected of aggravated bribery. One of those requested to be detained is an employee of the traffic administration in the Stockholm Region, the Prosecution Authority writes in a press release.

Three of the suspects were released on Thursday, but suspicions against them remain.

The crimes are alleged to have been committed during the period January 2023–December 2024.

The district court also ordered the seizure of SEK 6 million from a company that supplies equipment to SL, to cover a possible corporate fine. The CEO of the company agreed to the prosecutor's request for seizure, as is clear from the court's decision, which is otherwise largely confidential.

When TT reached the company's manager, he declined to comment on the suspicions.

Stockholm Local Transport (SL) confirmed the information on Wednesday, saying that "individual employees in the administration are affected". SL also announced that it had stopped all financial transactions with companies covered by the investigation but did not want to comment on the circumstances in more detail.
