"I'm 43 years old, I know that something like this hardly ever happens. I appreciate it, but I don't expect it to continue. So I'm just enjoying it," she tells TT.
Now the American actor is in cinemas in Sweden in "Verity", based on a novel by Colleen Hoover. Hathaway plays the successful author Verity, who is paralyzed after a car accident. A young female author is hired to continue writing Verity books. She will live in the lonely house where Verity and her family live, which of course leads to complications.
“Relates”
The main character has an ambiguous relationship with her children - is it difficult as a mother to live in such a role?
It was a role and it obviously feels more natural to play someone who loves their children. I relate to that. On the other hand, I'm an actor and I should be able to play anything and create a human being under any circumstances.
My career goal has always been longevity and range. So if I've managed to do that this year, with a comedy, a historical drama and a thriller, I'm very happy.
Does she accept all the roles she's offered? It might seem that way when three films with the same actor appear in a short period of time. But Anne Hathaway is selective.
I love what I do. But sometimes I get a great script with a great director that I've always wanted to work with, but at the same time I feel like I've already done what I want to do in this particular field, and then I turn it down. I never regret turning down a role.
“The most beautiful in the world”
How does it feel to be “named” the “most beautiful woman in the world”? Anne Hathaway bursts into laughter.
I was extremely embarrassed, she tells TT, and continues:
I didn't agree with it, but it's not something you say no to. I'm ready to try anything once, so I thought, "Sure, like it if you want, I don't agree with it, but let's see how it feels."
It was American People magazine that said this spring that Hathaway is currently the most beautiful in the world. Regardless of what you think about it, it can be stated that Anne Hathaway has had a successful year - and that there is still a campaign for her to be nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role as Penelope in "The Odyssey".
It has been fantastic to have been a part of this, she says.
