It is a practice that the Governor of Stockholm County is also the Chairman of the Skansen Board.

"Against the background of Anna Kinberg Batra leaving the assignment as Governor of Stockholm, she herself has requested to be discharged from the assignment as Chairman of the Board of the Skansen Foundation", writes Anna Linder, press assistant to Minister of Culture Parisa Liljestrand (M), to SVT.

After sharp criticism from the Parliamentary Ombudsman, the former Moderate Party leader was recently forced to leave her position as Governor of Stockholm. She will instead take up a position at the Government Offices.

It is the second chairmanship she is leaving in a short time. A few days ago, it was also announced that she is stepping down as Chairman of the Swedish Space Corporation, an assignment she has held since 2022.
