Sweden's former deputy governor Anna Breman has made her first interest-rate announcement as governor of New Zealand's central bank.

The central bank, as expected, left its key interest rate unchanged at 2.25 percent. At a press conference, Anna Breman emphasized that the central bank is not planning any interest rate increases until it sees a stronger economy.

Data show that we are in the early stages of a recovery.

The kiwi dollar weakened slightly against the US dollar.
