She will take office on November 10 and the appointment will be valid until November 2031.
Acko Ankarberg Johansson (KD) was Minister of Health from 2022 until September this year, when she resigned and also left the Riksdag.
Prior to that, she has served as chairwoman of the municipal board in Jönköping and chairwoman of the Riksdag's social affairs committee.
"Her understanding of the interaction between state, region and municipality will be an asset to the county administrative boards and to the residents of Västmanland County. I am pleased that Acko Ankarberg Johansson has accepted this assignment," says Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner in a press release.
