It has been clear for some time that Filippa Angeldahl is leaving Manchester City.

Now, she has been presented by a new club: Real Madrid.

The Spanish giant announces on its website that Angeldahl has signed a contract.

"So happy to be a part of Real Madrid", Angeldahl writes on her Instagram.

The 26-year-old midfielder comes most recently from playing for Manchester City. In May, the English club announced that Angeldahl would be leaving after a total of 69 matches in light blue.

The Real Madrid she is now joining finished last season second in the Spanish league behind dominant rival Barcelona. The team also played in the Champions League and finished last in the group that Chelsea and Häcken advanced from.

Angeldahl is Real Madrid's first acquisition for the season.

Born: July 14, 1997.

Position: Midfielder.

Clubs: Vaksala SK, Sirius, AIK, Hammarby, Linköping, Häcken, Manchester City, Real Madrid.
