The charges against the brothers, 38 and 36 years old, amount to 21 points, including rape, human trafficking, and assault, reports AFP. Four women are plaintiffs.
The brothers, who are British and American citizens, are being investigated for crimes in the USA and Romania, where they have resided for several years. In Romania, they are being investigated for rape, trafficking of minors, money laundering and human trafficking. Allegations that both deny.
They were arrested in Romania in 2022 and placed under house arrest. Last year, a court decided that they would be extradited to the United Kingdom, but announced at the same time that the extradition could take several years due to the legal process in Romania.
In February, the ban on them leaving the country was lifted shortly after the US President Donald Trump's administration was reported to have lobbied for Romania to ease their travel restrictions.
They then traveled to the USA and later back to Romania. It is unclear where they are currently located.
