Andreas Nordebäck recorded a season's best and finished 17th in the World Championship final in figure skating in Boston.
"I'm glad I got through the program. It required some fighting today, but I'm satisfied with the result and proud of my performance", says the 21-year-old in a press release from the Swedish Figure Skating Association.
Nordebäck started the free skating strongly with a triple axel in combination with a triple salchow, followed by six more triple jumps. The technical score was slightly affected by him being forced to make a stepout.
Both the result in the free skating with 150.82 points and the total score of 229.85 are season's best for Nordebäck. The placement is also his highest in a World Championship.
The winner was 20-year-old American star Ilia Malinin, who defended his World Championship gold in front of a jubilant home crowd. He recorded 208.15 points in the free program and 318.56 total.
