Vegas had the chance to decide the series - and took it right from the start. 3–0 after the first period gave Anaheim a huge uphill battle.
After falling behind in the middle of the period, Anaheim, led by Swedish forward Leo Carlsson, pressed on in the final 20 minutes of the game - without further payoff. Despite a 15–3 shot advantage in the final period, it was Vegas that scored the goals, winning the game 5–1.
Vegas now faces Colorado in the semifinals.
