Marcus Rashford has been heavily criticized for his form slump, and since Rúben Amorim's arrival as head coach of the club, he has largely been left out of the match squad. This was also the case during Manchester United's 1–0 win over Fulham on Sunday.
Afterwards, the Portuguese explained his decision and took the opportunity to send a strong message to Rashford.
If things don't change, I won't either. It's the same situation for all players, if you give your all, you're useful," says Amorim at a press conference according to BBC and continues:
I'd rather pick Vital (Jorge, 63-year-old goalkeeper coach at Manchester United) than a player who isn't willing to give their all every day.
After being benched, transfer rumors have been swirling around the 27-year-old, who has played for the club since he was seven years old and has made over 400 appearances for the senior team. According to several English media outlets, Rashford wants to leave the club, but it's unclear who the favorites are to sign him.
The English transfer window closes on February 3.
