“The world stands on the brink of a dangerous new era,” writes the human rights organization.
As part of a "trend towards lawlessness", Amnesty mentions, among other things, Israel's policy towards Palestinians, the United Arab Emirates' role in the war in Sudan, and, despite the fact that the survey actually applies to 2025, the US and Israel's latest war against Iran.
The organization is also concerned that forces for good are not protesting more.
"When abuse is not met with consequences, passivity effectively becomes acquiescence," a press release states.
Regarding Sweden, Amnesty criticizes, among other things, that the rights of the Sami are being "overlooked" and the government's increasingly restrictive proposals on residence permits.
