Amnesty International accuses Hamas, a terrorist organization, and other armed Palestinian groups of committing crimes against humanity and war crimes during and after the attacks on October 7, 2023.

The allegations are presented in a report from the human rights organization.

“Our investigation confirms that the crimes committed by Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups during the attacks on 7 October 2023 and against the hostages they captured are part of a systematic and widespread attack against the civilian population and constitute crimes against humanity,” said Secretary-General Agnès Callamard in a press release.

Amnesty International has previously accused Hamas and other groups of committing war crimes on October 7, 2023, AFP reports. The new report concludes that they are also responsible for crimes against humanity, particularly regarding hostages.

Among the acts mentioned by Amnesty International are murder, extermination and torture.

"Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups showed a despicable disregard for human life," said Agnès Callamard.

Amnesty International has previously accused Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and is once again raising that accusation. Israel has firmly denied it.
