Hundreds of soldiers have reportedly been moved from the US al-Udeid air base in Qatar and from US bases in Bahrain, according to the newspaper, citing US officials.
The evacuations come amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, as President Donald Trump has been trying to pressure Iran to agree to a new deal on the country's nuclear program. At the same time, the United States has mobilized militarily around Iran at an unprecedented pace in recent weeks.
Al-Udeid is the largest US base in the Middle East, with around 10,000 troops. The air base was attacked by Iran during the 12-day war against Israel in June.
