A Russian court sentenced an American soldier to three years and nine months in prison on Wednesday, reports Russian state media.
The American was detained in the city of Vladivostok and was put on trial for theft and threats, writes state-controlled Tass.
He was arrested on Russian territory in May. He is said to have been stationed in South Korea and allegedly entered Russia of his own accord, something American media had previously reported on.
The White House had previously confirmed knowledge of the arrest.
