The Swedish team for the U23 European Championship in Bergen is ready and among the names we see, among other things, Mia Barnett on 1,500 meters. Born on the American east coast, with Swedish connections on her mother's side, she started competing for Hälle 2025. Now she takes the step and starts - like Armand Duplantis - to compete for the blue and yellow.
With a personal record of 4.08,44, she would be in ninth place through all time in Sweden, writes the Swedish Athletics Association in a press release.
It is also clear that Melwin Lycke Holm jumps both high and long in this year's championship.
"The team is one of the strongest ever to represent Sweden in a U23 European Championship. Of course, both I and the team dream of medals, but the most important thing is that they get there and feel that they perform at their best level", says Mikael Wennolf, national team leader for U23, in a statement.
The U23 European Championship will be held on July 17-20.
