The American rapper Rich Homie Quan has passed away, reports American media.
Quan debuted in 2012 but broke through seriously as part of Rich Gang together with Young Thug and Birdman. Their song "Lifestyle" from 2014 became a hit that topped Billboard's list for hip-hop and R&B that summer.
The trio's subsequent mixtape "Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1" became trend-setting and, according to the music site Pitchfork, came to constitute one of the cornerstones of the Atlanta sound as well as overall 2010s rap music.
Rich Homie Quan was 34 years old.
