The USA has carried out several air strikes against IS targets in Syria, according to the country's military command for the Middle East, Centcom.
The goal, according to a post on social media, was to prevent "the terrorist group from carrying out external operations and ensuring that IS does not get the chance to reorganize in central Syria".
Around a dozen IS members were killed in the attacks, according to Centcom.
The USA's military has repeatedly attacked targets belonging to the Islamic extremist movement, and often the raids take place in Syria's neighboring country, Iraq.
