The airline American Airlines stopped all its flights on Christmas Eve morning. But now the technical problems seem to be resolved, writes ABC News.

The flights were stopped early on Tuesday morning, local time, due to a technical problem. According to information to CNN, it was a software fault that made it impossible to calculate weight and balance on the plane.

At least 1,979 departures in the USA were stopped in the middle of the holiday traffic, as a record number of Americans, 40 million, were expected to fly.

The American aviation authority FAA, Federal Aviation Administration, reports that boarding of planes has now begun and the stop has been lifted.
