"CDC is working with the patient's employer, other US federal agencies, health authorities, and partners in Congo-Kinshasa to prevent further spread of infection," the agency wrote in a statement.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said earlier this week that the number of people who have died in the ongoing Ebola outbreak has risen to 600.
The current outbreak is driven by the Bundibugyo variant, for which there is currently no vaccine or specific treatment.
