The Ambulance Association believes the police are not enough, and wants the regions to investigate the possibility of using security companies for high-risk calls.

We need security units that can respond quickly in cases where the police do not have the resources to send anyone, or are geographically too far away, says Henrik Johansson, union secretary at the Swedish Ambulance Association, to Ekot.

The demand is directed at five particularly vulnerable regions: Gävleborg, Skåne, Stockholm, Örebro and Västra Götaland Region.

There are also demands that Region Gävleborg further improve security after the murder in September 2025.
