Liverpool's current owner, the US-based Fenway Sports Group, has decided to sell around a third of the club to a consortium that includes Bezos and one of the founders of Facebook, Eduardo Saverin.
However, Bezos himself will not sit on the club's board.
“When we considered this opportunity, it was clear that the consortium shared our long-term philosophy and our appreciation for what makes Liverpool unique,” says Fenway Sports Group CEO Mike Gordon.
Liverpool has won 20 English league titles, the most recent in the 2024/25 season.
