Miley Cyrus released her tenth album "Bass Persuades" on Friday, and the ballad "Redlights" reportedly bears a strong resemblance to Lear's song "The Sphinx" from 1978.
"Thank you Miley for copying my song 'The Sphinx'. I'm flattered!" Lear writes on
with hashtags like "ripoff" and "copycat."
Lear was a successful model in the 1960s and 1970s in London and Paris. She was a muse for the artist Salvador Dalí for a time and had a high-profile relationship with David Bowie, who encouraged her to take up singing.
"I've never been one to take things to court, but my record label Universal and the music publisher - for whom I wrote the lyrics - want the plagiarism to be acknowledged," Amanda Lear told AFP.
