The Swiss alpine star Niels Hintermann has been treated for lymph node cancer. Now the 29-year-old announces that he is healthy.
"It has been a tough time, but I'm naturally glad it's over now", Hintermann writes on Instagram.
The Swiss revealed the cancer disease in October and it was clear that he would miss the rest of the season.
"If everything goes according to plan, we hope Niels will be back with full strength for the 2025-26 season", said the Swiss national team doctor Walter Frey then.
The downhill specialist has three individual World Cup victories. At the Olympic Games in Beijing 2022, he finished 16th.
