Alphabet raises $80 billion from investors for AI investments

The internet giant Alphabet, which owns Google among other companies, is raising $80 billion (approximately SEK 745 billion) from investors to invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI).

It involves a series of offerings, with Berkshire Hathaway, among others, raising $10 billion. Overall, it is one of the largest offerings of all time.

Ahead of the offerings, Alphabet has invested heavily in building AI infrastructure to develop advanced AI models and to supply chips to customers who want to run their own AI models.
