30-year-old Almgren was overwhelming and won the Diamond League race with over 13 seconds ahead of Kuma Girma, Ethiopia.

It was an overjoyed Almgren who talked about his feelings after the race.

My God! I thought before that I had a chance at the European record in a perfect race, but now there was quite a lot of wind and I had to pull, kind of, half the race myself. Yet, I do it well, he says in SVT's broadcast and continues:

- I have really good times in my body, one can say. If I get to run against the very best in the world in a head-to-head race, then I have a lot left.

Almgren also explains a recent bet that has immediately given results.

- This shows that everything I've done this year has worked. It's just to continue on the same path so this will become very good.
