Degerfors secured the series win in Superettan on Saturday and a spot in Allsvenskan next season. The day after, Öster tightened their grip on second place ahead of the final round, when they crushed bottom-placed Skövde 5-2 (5-0) in Växjö.
The match felt more or less decided after just six minutes, when David Seger had managed to score both 1-0 and 2-0 for Öster.
The goal fest not only meant three points but also gave Öster a significant advantage in goal difference over third-placed Landskrona, who are on a qualifying spot and two points behind.
A huge win and a first half in absolute top class, says 4-0 scorer Kevin Höög Jansson to Max.
Öster will face Degerfors in the final round, who, sportingly, have nothing to play for - but who certainly want to end the season nicely in front of their home crowd at Stora Valla. If the Växjö team takes a point, promotion is secured, as long as Landskrona doesn't win by at least eight goals away against Utsikten.
Fourth-placed Helsingborg missed the chance to pass rival Landskrona after the heavy 1-2 defeat away against Örebro. However, hope for qualification still lives. HIF is two points behind Landskrona, and has six goals worse goal difference, ahead of the final round. Helsingborg will then host Örgryte.
